Love this tea. Toasty, warm, rich and gentle. I think it is one of the best oolongs I have had in a long time and I'm an avid everyday oolong drinker!
Very nice light oolong tea for the morning. On the lid of my gaiwan, it gives a floral, grassy and with a little milky undertone like from a rice pudding. Same with my aroma cup. The tea has a light floral and subtle grassy taste to it. Grassy like a green tea, but not pungent. The tea has a long finish with an apple skin flavor lingering on the tongue. Color is a light green-yellow color, when brewed at 201F.
Great oolong to sip at work or at home. Color is a very nice green to yellow at 190F, on white porcelain. Taste is very floral upfront, with undertones of granny smith apple. The tea has a lingering taste of apple skins. Later steeps, you get more of the apple skin flavor. The tea smells incredible. The tea itself smells a little like rice pudding. In the first steeps, the smell of my gaiwan lid was more floral and later smelling a little more vegetal. Same with aroma cup. A friend smelled the brewed leaves and said it smell very umami like. Incredible tea. Will be purchasing again!
The first thing that hit me was the creaminess of this tea. I have yet to try a milky oolong, but if any oolong is milky, it is this one. The color when brewed at 190F in a gaiwan is more yellow green. Almost like the inside of an avocado. The taste is smooth and not heavy in tannins or what I call apple skin flavor. If a tea can be juicy this one is. The floral and creamy taste doesn't linger long, but the apple skin flavor is what is left over on the tongue. Like most green oolong I've tasted, the later steeps begin to taste a little more like apple skins the more you steep. Losing the creaminess, then more floral and apple skin, and then just apple skins. The scent of the tea is a creamy jasmine like scent, with cinnamon undertones and as my aroma cup cools, the scent turns into a light rose and peony fragrance. On my gaiwan lid, it gives a creamy, floral, and boiled vegetal scent. My leaves were also very tightly rolled and unfurled beautify into half a pinky length leaves. Must have tea!
