Organically-grown black tea smoked over pine root balls to produce a peat smoke flavor that is usually reserved for Scotch. We jokingly refer to this tea as BBQ ribs in a cup or campfire in a cup. Great for people who don't shy away from strong flavors.
I love the lapsang suchong I used to get from J: strong, complex, ashy. The latest batch (different packaging) tastes like weak dirty water, with none of the complex flavors I enjoy. Incapable of maker a strong cup, as well. Tossed it.
Well, I love it! I enjoy it while I am drinking it, and think about it a lot when I am not. ❤️
