What Makes Us Unique
There are a lot of places to buy tea. Here's why people keep coming back to J-TEA.
We Roast In-House
Most tea companies buy finished tea and resell it. We go further. Some of our teas are roasted right here in Eugene, which means we're not just sourcing — we're crafting. Roasting changes a tea. It deepens the flavor, smooths the rough edges, and brings out a complexity that wouldn't exist otherwise. A lightly roasted green oolong and a deeply roasted Tie Guan Yin are almost different worlds, and knowing how to navigate that is something that takes years. We've put in the years.
We Vacuum Seal Everything
Tea is alive, and it starts to change the moment it's harvested. Oxygen, moisture, and light are its enemies. We vacuum seal all of our teas so that what arrives at your door is as close as possible to what came off the farm. When you open a bag of J-TEA, you'll notice it. That's not an accident.
Tea Time Capsules
This one is personal to me. Tea has the ability to mark time in a way almost nothing else can. We created tea time capsules so you can seal a tea away — for a birth, a wedding, an anniversary, or just a moment you want to hold onto — and open it years later. The tea ages. The memory stays. It's one of my favorite things we do.
20 Years of Direct Relationships
I've been sourcing Taiwanese tea since 2004. I lived in Taiwan for six years. I speak Mandarin. I know the farmers by name. That's not a marketing line — it's just the truth, and it's the reason we have access to teas that most people will never find anywhere else.
Learn on YouTube
If you want to see where this tea comes from and how to get the most out of it, come find us on YouTube. I make videos about sourcing trips, brewing methods, specific teas, and the stories behind them. It's free, it's honest, and there's nothing quite like it in the tea world. Watch on YouTube →
