Osmanthus Milk Oolong
Osmanthus Milk Oolong
Jin Xuan (Golden Lily) Cultivar — Taiwan | Scented with Dried Osmanthus Flowers
Some teas are greater than the sum of their parts. This is one of them.
Jin Xuan — the Golden Lily cultivar — is one of Taiwan's most beloved oolongs, prized for a natural creaminess that has nothing to do with additives or flavoring. It's in the leaf itself: a buttery, milky softness that emerges from the cultivar's own character. Lightly oxidized and left in its greener, more floral expression, it's a tea that feels gentle and alive in the cup.
Then comes the osmanthus.
Dried osmanthus blossoms are among the most intensely fragrant flowers used in Chinese tea culture — small, golden, and remarkably potent. Scented into the Jin Xuan, they amplify what's already there: the creaminess deepens, the floral quality lifts, and the whole cup takes on a luminous, almost honeyed sweetness that feels completely natural because, in a sense, it is.
The result is bright and refreshing, with a late citrus note that gives way to smooth earth and dried yellow flowers. Green pear in the aroma. Something close to matcha ice cream on the palate — cool, creamy, unhurried.
Light on the body, long on the finish.
