Green Oolong
Green oolongs are lightly oxidized and fall on the greener side of the oolong spectrum. While they share similarities with green tea, green oolongs stand out for their natural sweetness and floral notes, without the grassy or bitter undertones. The flavor and aroma of these teas vary widely, influenced by factors such as elevation, terroir, and cultivar. Higher elevations, in particular, put stress on the tea plants, resulting in heartier leaves that produce more complex flavors. High mountain green oolong from Taiwan is a distinct category, known for its unique qualities. In terms of tea history, green oolongs are relatively new, developed in response to consumer demand for teas rich in antioxidants and the health benefits associated with green tea.
