Osmanthus Oolong
High mountain tea has a particular quality that low-elevation growing simply cannot replicate. The cool air, the slow growth, the morning mist — all of it concentrates into the leaf, producing a natural sweetness and clarity that needs very little else to be extraordinary.
This tea starts there.
Grown in the Ren Ai township of Nantou County — one of Taiwan's most storied high mountain growing regions — and crafted from the Green Heart cultivar, a variety prized for its delicate character and refined sweetness. The spindly stems you'll notice in the dry leaf are a mark of fresh, tender growth. In tea, young stems mean sugar. That sweetness isn't added — it's structural, built into the plant at the moment of harvest.
The osmanthus scenting lifts what's already present. Light and unhurried, the dried blossoms settle into the tea's natural register rather than competing with it. The result is a cup that feels almost effortless — incredibly light, naturally sweet, lightly fruity, and deeply floral without ever feeling perfumed or heavy.
This is tea at its most quietly beautiful.
